Who we are and what we do

Our purpose is to promote waterway transport in Europe.  After all, why get stuck in a traffic jam and miss deadlines when you can cut costs and deliver on time on the waterways? Increased waterway traffic is so important because it is not only cost-effective, it also makes for a more sustainable transport network.

  • Our network of waterway managers, users and advocates is advancing the cause of the waterways through practical projects, concerted promotion and coherent advocacy within the EU.
  • If you believe in a dynamic waterway network, as we do, we would be delighted for you to join us in our work.
