INE position on Commission proposal for RIS directive

INE and EFIP propose amendments to the draft directive which are mainly technical in nature to ensure a better implementation.

We also propose to appropriately involve inland ports in the scope. Member States should be explicitly allowed to apply the directive to non-connected waterways as well as waterways of a lower class.

Finally, INE and EFIP invite to find a balanced complaint mechanism which combines transparency, efficiency and minimal administrative burden.
