Remote controlled shipping is already a reality in Flanders. What kind of regulation do we need in Europe for a safe and harmonised deployment?
Within the context of the Belgian Presidency of the Council 2024 the Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Works organises a Smart Shipping Conference on 15 and 16 May 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The programme consists of plenary speeches, keynote speeches and panel discussions at a sailing ship in the port of Antwerp, bringing together political leaders, policymakers and experts to exchange views and discuss next steps, including regulatory, around smart shipping and aiming to provide an insight into the challenges facing smart shipping today.
The benefits of smart shipping include increased efficiency, reduced costs, improved safety, enables new business cases and reduced environmental impact.
