Sustainable urban mobility and circular economy

Inland waterway transport represents a responsible logistics solution serving the urban economy with much lower external costs (noise, congestion, pollution). In particular, it participates in the concept of circular economy through the recovery of waste.

A good example of this can be found in Paris, where the Seine is increasingly used for the transport of large volumes of various recycling materials such as plastics, paper and cardboard, electrical and household equipment, etc. by vessel from the processing centres in the city centre to recycling centres upstream.
